South Carolina: Chad Prosser Up With TV Spot in 7th District

South Carolina Congressional candidate Chad Prosser, the former director of the state’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, is up with a new TV ad today.

“Chad Prosser is going to shake up Washington,” a male announcer says with a syrupy voice at the top of the ad. “A conservative businessman, Prosser used his private-sector experience to create jobs.”

Prosser, in a competitive and crowded primary for the GOP nomination in the Palmetto State’s new 7th district, launched the biographical spot backed by about a $14,000, two-week cable television buy on Fox News Channel. Prosser, a former chairman of the Horry County Council, is expected to be up on TV through the June 12 primary.

Other credible candidates in the nine-person primary include Florence attorney Jay Jordan, Horry County Council Chairman Tom Rice and colorful former Lt. Gov. André Bauer. A runoff is seen as almost inevitable given the number of candidates in the primary. That election would be held June 26.

Roll Call rates the race as Likely Republican.
