It seems Kathleen Sebelius gets weak in the knees around star NFL quarterbacks.

The Health and Human Services Secretary spoke Monday night at a cocktail event celebrating a partnership between the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition and the Entertainment Software Association. She suggested that her photo op with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees at the start of the evening left her overly excited.

“I had a tough assignment earlier,” Sebelius said. “I had to have my picture taken and stand with my arm around Drew Brees. I kept hoping that they would make it last just a bit longer.”While introducing Brees as co-chairman of the President’s Council, Sebelius got tongue-tied and flubbed the host city the Saints officially call home.

“I want to turn the mic over to someone who is no stranger to any sports fan. The quarterback of the St. Louis team who is willing to be the co-chair of the President’s Council, Drew Brees,” Sebelius said unflinchingly.

Honest mistake? Or the result of school-girl-like crush on the 2010 Super Bowl champ?
