Former Rep. Christopher Shays (R) has opted against going on television in the lead-up to his Aug. 14 Senate primary against former WWE CEO Linda McMahon.

“Don’t make an assumption because I’m not going to have TV ads that we’re not going to win. We’re taking our money, whatever we have, and we’re going to spend it to talk to 150,000 people. That’s how you win a primary,” he told the Hartford Courant.

McMahon has been on television since May. Roll Call rates this race as Likely Democratic.
