Politics, it’s not just for breakfast anymore.

On Sundays, you can get it all day and night, as the talk shows are now only a warm-up for fictional fare.
Starting at 6 a.m., before the talking heads even begin broadcasting, the new Web series “Chasing the Hill” airs for the low, low price of $1.99 off PayPal.

“Chasing the Hill” follows fictional California Rep. Kristina Ryan’s (Robin Weigert) struggling campaign. In the pilot, the campaign brings on Henry Walls (Matthew Del Negro) to give the campaign the juice it so desperately needs. Real life politicians such as former Sens. Dennis DeConcini (D-Ariz.) and Mike Gravel (D-Alaska) are scheduled to play themselves.

Walls was originally meant to be played by Richard Schiff, best known as Toby Ziegler from Aaron Sorkin’s “The West Wing.” When Schiff’s schedule got complicated, Del Negro, another “West Wing” alum, took the part of the political strategist with a past.

Later in the evening, viewers have an alternative to Sorkin’s new politics- and journalism-soaked HBO drama “The Newsroom.” The USA Network’s “Political Animals,” starring Sigourney Weaver, is up and running. Weaver is Elaine Barrish, the secretary of State who had run for president and lost. Her popular ex-husband is also a philandering ex-president. Where do they get such material?
