Another Day, Another Typo
If it’s a new week, it’s another typo with the House.
Amid Speaker John Boehner’s statement on the abrupt announcement that home-state colleague and “close friend” Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-Ohio) was not going to seek re-election, was this:
“NOTE: Steve LaTourette was first elected to public office in 1998 as Lake County Prosecutor. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1994.”
Unless the Speaker is revealing that LaTourette is a time traveler, we believe he meant that LaTourette was elected in 1988, when most public records indicate the good voters in Lake County chose him as their district attorney.
It was just last week that the House GOP was apparently looking to set a land-speed record for typos in its regulatory reform bill, leading to, among other things, tears being shed on the House floor.
Good times.
