Dear Canuck HOH reader(s): The bad news is that thanks to the upcoming documentary “Anger in America,” you, our beloved neighbors in the Great White North, will not be spared the indignity of being exposed to our increasingly toxic political climate.

Executive producer Peter John Ingles told HOH the nearly finished project is set to air in French over Société Radio-Canada airwaves Sept. 21 and 28 and then in English on the Canadian Broadcast Corporation channels Oct. 18 and 25.

“This is a portrait of the anger in America: Where does it come from? What shapes it? Who is leading it, and where will it lead us all?” Ingles said of the no-holds-barred look at our ultra messy elections. The unflinching flick promises to cover all the well-known sticking points (multiple wars, long-term unemployment, a sputtering economy) but also offers up an alternate agitator: our inalienable right to freedom of expression.

“The Internet and the exponential growth of even more digital channels and social networking have abetted a contentious culture, more democratic but more extreme,” Ingles shared.

The documentarians rounded up a slew of seasoned rabble-rousers, interviewing: American Crossroads Communications Director Jonathan Collegio, Daily Beast/Newsweek contributing editor David Frum, Conservative Black Chick blogger Crystal Wright, American Enterprise Institute scholar Gerard Alexander, Hudson Institute President Kenneth Weinstein, Center for Responsive Politics executive director Sheila Krumholz, “Pity the Billionaire” author Tom Frank and Brave New Films founder/political activist Robert Greenwald.
