Paul Ryan Was Kind of Asking for It

It’s hard to feel sorry for a person who should’ve known better.

Mitt Romney’s new super friend, House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, was slammed in Rolling Stone by his “favorite band,” Rage Against the Machine.

Rage guitarist Tom Morello took pen to paper and accused Ryan of not understanding the band … just as “Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn’t understand them.”

So, two things:

1. We call shenanigans!

If Ryan was a true Rage Against the Machine fan, he would know the band hates nearly everything he and the Republican Party stands for. How do we know? Well, we’ve heard their music.

“I wonder what Ryan’s favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of ‘F– the Police’?” Morello wonders in his op-ed. “Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!”

Indeed.

2. We call shenanigans and challenge Ryan to actually sing to us!
Via the magical YouTube machine, we challenge the Congressman to make a video of a Rage track of his choosing. To help, we’ve even provided a list of lyrics of Rage songs. Click here!
