Hecklers Interrupt Paul Ryan, Crowd Roars Back

Hecklers interrupted GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan three times today at the 2012 Values Voter Summit. The crowd roared to his defense by chanting “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!”

Just moments after Ryan took the stage to a standing ovation at the Omni Shoreham, a heckler shouted: “Corporations are not people!”

“Thank you for your hospitality,” Ryan quipped. The crowd chanted “U.S.A., U.S.A., U.S.A.” at the activist, who was quickly escorted from the room — but not before Huffington Post’s Sabrina Siddiqui was able to snag a press release and a Web address from the disruptor.

Several minutes later, another heckler called out, kind of casually: “How do we get money out of politics?”

Ryan ignored this remark.

Two minutes later, the heckler tried again.

“Corporations are not people!” he shouted, trying to hold up his sign.

And, once again, the crowd shot him down with chants of “USA! USA!”

This time the activist was shown out.
