Tortilla Coast Gets Vice Presidential

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan’s former employer is holding a debate watch party, with full sound Thursday night.

Capitol Hill institution Tortilla Coast is famous for being popular with GOP staffers and for hiring the Wisconsin Republican when he was just a wee staffer in the 1990s.

The Tex-Mex spot will be cheering on the former-server-now-Budget Committee chairman as he faces off with Vice President Joseph Biden.

Both candidates have been legislators since their 20s and, for better or worse, understand how the Capitol functions in a way that President Barack Obama and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney can’t match.

For the wonky among us, this is the debate to watch — and Tortilla Coast might be the most appropriate spot to watch the drama unfold.

Get there early — before 7 p.m. — to grab a seat and the $6 frozen margaritas.

Oh, and you might as well print out the NerdWallet’s Vice Presidential Drinking Game before you head over.
