The Bluecoats Are Coming

’Tis the season for Washington holiday merriment. And one of the most fun events takes place Saturday at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE), which will host the Fifth Annual Repeal Day Ball.

The soiree, which celebrates the repeal of Prohibition, runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and usually spills out, so to speak, to neighboring drinking establishments afterward.

In his initial invite, Holzherr reminded celebrants of the timing, just in case anyone has a few too many the night before: “Industry folks, please realize this is the morning after the Repeal Ball.”

Holzherr’s odyssey leaves via chartered bus from Wisdom on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. The rough schedule has folks getting lunch on their own in Philly before heading to the distillery to check out a range of its Bluecoat Gin products.

He promised to have everyone back in Washington about 10:30 p.m.

Holzherr, who proudly serves Bluecoat in a number of his specialty cocktails, told HOH there are a few spots left on the bus. If you’re interested, all you need to do is drop by Wisdom (1432 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) or Church & State (1236 H St. NE) on Tuesday or Thursday and be the first person to order something with Bluecoat in it.

Cheers.
