Arizona Republican Rep. David Schweikert may be on Speaker John A. Boehner’s naughty list, but the staunch conservative is not letting any intraparty squabbles put a damper on his holiday spirit.

Not 24 hours after being unceremoniously dumped from the Financial Services Committee for bucking party leaders once too often in the 112th Congress, Schweikert broke out the holiday decorations and began making merry on social media.

“There’s always room for reindeer in Washington,” he announced alongside festive poses splashed across his Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Schweikert aide Rachel Semmel confirmed that their offices, here in the Longworth Building and back in Arizona’s newly configured 6th District, are “in full swing” for the holidays. According to Semmel, the Christmas ornaments and Hanukkah decorations were unpacked Dec. 4, though she maintains the goofy-looking antler ears were newly acquired this year.
