South Carolina Gov. Nikki R. Haley has been a busy bee on the Internet Thursday.

First the Republican told the Washington Post that previous Senate experience is not a requirement for her appointee to replace Republican Sen. Jim DeMint.

Then she posted lyrics from the Adele song “Rumor Has It” on her Facebook page.

“Anyone who knows the governor knows that she loves music and Facebook and that, from time to time, she posts song lyrics on her page,” says Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey. “Nothing to read into it beyond that. Everyone needs to take a deep breath.”

However, then Haley posted the vetting form her office prepared on comedian Stephen Colbert on her Facebook wall.

“Mr. Colbert, clearly a whole lot of people felt you needed a second look for U.S. Senate. And because I believe in doing my full due diligence … this is what our vetting process came back with: https://goo.gl/2WeZl.”

For example, her staff reports that Colbert didn’t know that the state amphibian is the spotted salamander. And he told “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross in October he would like to wander the state capital, Columbia, “pantsless,” “with a bottle of Jack Daniels and try to get arrested.”

Haley threw the ball back in Colbert’s court when she ended the Facebook post with a cheeky little nudge and a wink: “What say you?”
