Nikki Haley Mocks Media, Colbert Through Song

Republican Gov. Nikki R. Haley of South Carolina turned heads Thursday when she told the Washington Post that her Senate pick wouldn’t have to have experience. Haley, of course, is tasked with choosing outgoing Republican Sen. Jim DeMint’s replacement.

Practically since the moment DeMint announced his intention to step down from Congress and take the top spot at the Heritage Foundation, news outlets including Roll Call — and practically every American — have been speculating that Haley could indeed appoint comedian and late-night host Stephen Colbert to be the Palmetto State’s junior senator.
