Moviegoers seem to be in a political mood, as they keep flocking to Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln.”

The drama about the ratification of the 13th Amendment was the seventh-highest-grossing film on New Year’s Day. It trailed another somewhat political movie, Tom Hooper’s “Les Miserables,” the Hugh Jackman musical about the French Revolution.

So how about another, albeit slightly more obscure, political choice for Friday movie night?

The Party for Socialism and Liberation just happens to be screening “Che Guevara: Where You’d Never Imagine Him,” the 2004 Spanish-language documentary by Cuban director Manuel Pérez.

The show starts at the PSL’s Washington office at 617 Florida Ave. NW at 7 p.m. Friday.

A release from the party says it’s showing the film to commemorate the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. (Guevara and his forces rode into Havana on Jan. 2, 1959.) Other films about Guevara include Steven Soderbergh’s two-part, 269-minute tush-punisher “Che,” as well as the “The Motorcycle Diaries” by Walter Salles.

So how obscure is “Where You’d Never Imagine Him?”

Well, it doesn’t show up on IMDB.com. It is available from Amazon on DVD for $24.95 with “only 1 left in stock,” Amazon states.

We tried mightily to contact the PSL for more information about the film, and whether they would be serving snacks, but there was no response. Literally.

There’s no voice mail at the PSL’s listed phone number, and we received no reply to our emails. So just to be safe, and in the spirit of revolution, if you bring popcorn, bring enough to share.
