‘Shahs’ Star to Host D.C. Persian New Year Bash

A new personality on Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset” reality show is bringing a taste of Beverly Hills fashion sense to Persian New Year celebrations in the nation’s capital this weekend.

Neelufar Seyed Ghalichi, better known as Lilly Ghalichi, joined the cast of Near Eastern descendants in the show’s second season, which just wrapped up this February. In honor of the Persian New Year, which Persianate cultures the world over begin celebrating on the spring equinox, she’s hosting a fashion show and dance party at The Park at Fourteenth, a swanky restaurant-bar-lounge downtown.

Whatever will be on display, you ask? Why, swimgerie, of course, a luxury style of bathing suit that Ghalichi designs in tandem with fellow fashionista Jennifer Stano David, according to the swimwear line’s website.

According to Ghalichi’s online bio page, “Fashion and design have always been a passion of Lilly’s, so it is no surprise she founded the World’s Sexiest Line of Lingerie Inspired Swimwear, known as ‘Swimgerie.’”

The page clarifies that swimgerie is “a word she created by combining the words ‘Swimwear’ and ‘Lingerie.’” Got it.

Entertainment and event companies Exclusively Entertainment and Social Entertainment are putting on the party Saturday night, according to the event’s Facebook page.

“Its [sic] not just a party its [sic] an experience,” the description reads.

Festivities are scheduled to run from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Happy New Year, indeed.
