What’s in a D.C. Song?

What’s in a D.C. song?

The Washington Post’s John Kelly asked his readers for suggestions on what D.C. songs every Washington band should know. In his latest column, “Dance to the D.C. music,” he presents some results, from readers and himself. Among them are Bo Diddley’s “Pills,” and the Slickee Boys’ “When I go to the Beach,” as well as a favorite of any “Anchorman” viewer, “Afternoon Delight,” by the Starland Vocal Band, and, of course “Bustin’ Loose (Part I)” by Chuck Brown & the Soul Searchers.

What the heck, we’ll throw in for Bad Brains’ “Banned in D.C.”
