Steven Seagal! Punk Rock! Spies! = Best Codel Ever?

Congressional recesses, or district work periods as they’re known to the public relations-driven, can be sleepy affairs. But not for the congressional delegation that went to Russia last week!

As detailed by The Washington Post’s Will Englund, the team of lawmakers — Reps. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., Steve King, R-Iowa, Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., William Keating, D-Mass., and Paul Cook, R-Calif. — met with top spies at the FSB, Russia’s successor to the KGB. They were squired around by action movie star Steven Seagal to the site of the 2004 Beslan school massacre, and they discussed the imprisonment of Russian punk rock group Pussy Riot for a protest concert the group performed at a Moscow cathedral.
