Hopes for U.S.-Chinese Military Relations?

The Associated Press reports that “there is a rosy outlook for military relations with the US, China’s defense ministry has said, in an apparent attempt to limit damage from a recent confrontation between the countries’ navies in the South China Sea.”

“A ministry statement said the sides discussed issues relating to the incident on 5 December through normal channels and ‘carried out effective communication.'”
