The Senate Conservatives Fund launched a new TV ad in Mississippi on Tuesday, becoming the latest outside group to spend significant money on the state’s Republican Senate primary runoff.

With a week to go in the three-week-long race, the SCF’s political action arm expended $210,000 for a spot arguing “it’s time for a conservative change” from six-term Sen. Thad Cochran to state Sen. Chris McDaniel.

Cochran benefited from a 250-person fundraiser at the National Republican Senatorial Committee last week that provided an $820,000 financial surge. Previously, the Club for Growth’s political action arm spent about $600,000 on TV, radio and digital ads, plus direct mail, on McDaniel’s behalf, and the Madison Project launched a $25,000 radio ad for him on Monday.

Late last week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce spent $500,000 on an ad that says Cochran brings “honor and dignity” to the state and never budges “on his commitment to deliver for Mississippi every day.” Like the SCF ad, it prominently notes the runoff will be held on June 24.
