The EPA plans four public hearings on its proposed “Clean Power Plan” for greenhouse gas emissions from existing power plants, but none of them are in “coal country” — much to the chagrin of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

Speaking on the Senate floor, McConnell said he planned to testify at the hearing in Washington, D.C., and said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy was “unmoved” by his personal request to hold at least one of the four listening sessions where coal mining actually happens.
