Marines Consider Uniform Change

Marine Corps Times reports that “the Marine Corps will continue research that could lead to the adoption of a new female dress blue coat — closely resembling those worn by men — and an improved universal cover.”

“The Marine Corps took three steps Friday toward the development of a new female dress uniform by procuring 50 Modified Female Officer Dress Blue Coats, announcing plans to tour the fleet for feedback and creating an online survey set to open Jan. 23.”

“So far, modified female coats already tested in the National Capital Region at Marine Barracks Washington, Marine Corps Base Quantico and the Pentagon, have included a mandarin-style collar rather than the folded lapel on the current female coats.”
