Campaign: Bush Wants Military Increase Following Paris Attacks

The Wall Street Journal reports that “Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush is backing a broad U.S. military buildup in the wake of the Paris attacks, designed to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group and ‘develop the capability to wage war with crushing force.’”

“Specifically, Mr. Bush is calling for 40,000 new Army troops, 4,000 more Marines and new submarines and aircraft. By making a concrete commitment to increasing military spending and troop levels, Mr. Bush is setting a bar for Republican White House hopefuls looking to win favor from the party’s most hawkish voters.”
