Jan. 10 is a big day for lawmakers’ birthdays.

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., and Reps. Lois Capps, D-Calif.; Greg Walden R-Ore.; Bill Shuster, R-Pa.; and Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., all share the same birthday, and the bipartisan group of lawmakers rotate who hosts the joint lunch party every year. This year, Walden, who turned 59, threw the lunch with sandwiches and a birthday cake in his Rayburn office.

The group also had a special tribute to Capps, who is the oldest of the group and turned 78, to celebrate her retirement at the end of this Congress.
