Every year on March 14, math fanatics around the world celebrate Pi Day. Pi is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, holding the numerical value of approximately 3.14159.

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., is no stranger to the number with two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. And, ironically, his office is 314 Cannon.

The Kentucky Republican graduated from MIT with a double degree in electrical science and engineering in 1993 and a masters in mechanical engineering in 1996.

His next tweet at 12:30 p.m. shows nine pies and ice cream in the Cannon office, inviting people to stop in.

Other members got involved with celebrating Pi Day, including Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., who gave a Syracuse pizza joint a shout out on his official account.
