Cruz Joins Other Adventures in Parking

It's a bipartisan list

Sen. Ted Cruz’s return to the Senate was spoiled by a photo showing his ride to work parked at an angle that took up two spots.

Some took to Twitter to show how that scene reinforces the idea of the Texas Republican not being a likable person.

Cruz is not the first member of either chamber of Congress to be ridiculed for bad parking.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton’s parking troubles have been chronicled in the past, having attempted to park her car repeatedly in one video, only to hit a red car next to her. Holmes Norton also supposedly blocked a wheelchair ramp when parking.

Similarly, Cruz’s fellow Texan, GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert set off a row after he was ticketed for parking his SUV in a spot reserved for National Park Service vehicles.

Furthermore, former Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., and current Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., paid their parking tickets after being contacted by CQ Roll Call.
