Former president and possible future first first man Bill Clinton celebrates his 70th birthday on Friday and we hope it’s full of balloons. 

He’s about one year older than his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who will turn 69 in October.

Just Thursday, the former president participated in the traditional cookie recipe submission by presidential candidate spouses for Family Circle magazine’s Presidential Cookie Poll, CNN reported. He and Melania Trump are competing for votes from readers on their recipes.

In July, he addressed the Democratic convention, then watched two days later as his wife accepted the party’s presidential nomination, just as he had first done 24 years earlier.

Since leaving the White House in 2001, Clinton has kept busy.

The 42nd president received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2013, attended the George W. Bush presidential library dedication, where he outed himself as the black sheep of the Bush family, and has devoted much of his time and energy toward the Clinton Foundation.

He underwent emergency heart bypass surgery in 2004 and helped Hillary Clinton’s successful campaign for the Senate in 2000.

He joins his successor, George W. Bush, in the 70 Club. Bush turned 70 last month. The other two living former presidents, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, are 92 and 91, respectively.
