Word on the Hill: Time for a Women’s Museum?
Commission presents recommendations on women’s history museum

The American Museum of Women’s History Congressional Commission will present its official recommendations to Congress at 4:30 p.m. in the Capitol room H-137.
Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, D-N.Y., who introduced legislation establishing the commission, is slated to attend the presentation. The commission was established in 2014 to independently study the potential for a national women’s history museum in Washington.
Orientation schedule
From 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., incoming freshmen will have briefings in the Capitol Visitor Center Auditorium. Before the closed briefings, staff will escort photographers and videographers into the room for shots of the members-elect preparing for the program.
After today, orientation is on hiatus for Thanksgiving break and will continue on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
