Rep. Lance Gooden’s phone password (used to be) 777777
‘Just another thing Kanye West and I have in common,’ tweeted the Texas Republican
The internet has caught another person of interest in a highly sensitive act once more.
A video shows Rep. Lance Gooden unlocking his iPhone during (what was likely) Wednesday’s House Financial Services hearing where Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg answered questions about the company’s mishandling of user data and privacy concerns.
The Texas Republican’s own private data was soon made public. A user posted a video to Reddit with the title, “Congressman’s Password is 111111”
The clip shows Gooden grabbing his phone to unlock it, and he appears to mash the same number six times in quick succession.
Commenters made comical speculations on which number he chose.
“That is 444444. Much stronger,” suggested one Reddit-er.
The congressman’s office confirmed the password was comprised of just one digit.
“It was all 7s,” his office confirmed.

“Just another thing Kanye West and I have in common,” Gooden responded earlier on Twitter.
Kanye West, a vocal Trump supporter, notably released his passcode into the universe like he was dropping his next album during a meeting in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump just over a year ago.
Gooden touted the similarities between himself and the famous rapper who is married to celebrity Kim Kardashian.
“We both have beautiful wives, we’re both on TV a lot, we both love what Donald Trump is doing for the economy (minority unemployment and criminal justice reform), and we both look great in a pair of Yeezys,” Gooden said in a statement.
One difference? Unlike the congressman, the rapper’s choice of numbers appeared to be 000000.
Gooden has since changed his passcode.
“Asked Kanye for advice on that one,” he told HOH in an email.
