The super PAC tied to House Republican leadership is launching a new ad aimed at Democrat Kim Schrier in the competitive open-seat race in Washington’s 8th District. Congressional Leadership Fund’s latest ad, provided first to Roll Call, knocks Schrier’s support for a state income tax — citing a candidate questionnaire — and an energy tax. If elected to Congress, she would not have influence over taxes administered by the state government. The ad is part of CLF’s $3.8 million ad reservation, and will run on broadcast and cable networks in the Seattle media markets as well as online. Outside groups have poured money into the race, where Schrier, a pediatrician, faces former GOP state Sen. Dino Rossi in November. Republican Rep. Dave Reichert’s decision to retire boosted Democratic optimism about flipping the district, which Hillary Clinton won by 3 points in 2016. Inside Elections with Nathan L.
