The election of Donald Trump boosted donations to Planned Parenthood, and now, the effect is seen with the American Civil Liberties Union, which says it has received $7.2 million in donations over the past week. “Since the election, we have seen the greatest outpouring of support [in] our nearly 100-year history, greater than the days after 9/11,” ACLU tweeted.[Related: Planned Parenthood Thanks Pence for Donations]The $7.2 million in donations came from 120,000 donors, and the group said Monday it has seen a 25 percent increase in Facebook followers, as well, the Los Angeles Times reported.Should President-elect Donald Trump attempt to minimize free speech through tactics such as targeting news organizations during his presidency, the ACLU has warned it is prepared to fight. A black banner on its homepage says “See you in court” next to an image of Trump’s face. The banner takes viewers to the site’s donation page.
