John McCain took a shot at the Obama administration and its threat to veto the measure, saying he would be “astonished” by a veto over a funding level dispute. “The president of the United States — over a funding issue, which has nothing to do with authorization — is threatening to veto the defense bill,” McCain said. “… I would be astonished and angered, but more importantly I think the American people want a better viewpoint from a president of the United States whose role as commander-in-chief is to defend this nation.”</span></p><div id="cqrcPostAdditional"></div>
