A Week of Bitter Cold And Snow Bears Down On the District

[IMGCAP(1)] Maybe it’s the recent mild winters, but virtually no one seemed to enjoy the drop in the mercury that took hold on Washington last week. On Tuesday, it was one of the almost-daily flurries that caught this woman as she crossed Constitution Avenue Northeast. Later in the week, it was the slicing wind that forced wind chills to the single digits and sent Washingtonians running for cover. About the only thing Washington hasn’t seen this month is a punishing nor’easter. But then again, there’s still two more months of winter.
