It may be an omen, it may mean nothing. But we do find it hard to believe that someone in Sen. John Edwards’ (N.C.) operation didn’t know he was announcing his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination on the same date another White House contender/heartthrob had thrown his hat into the ring 43 years (and a year earlier in the cycle) before. Let’s hope for Sen. Bob Graham’s (Fla.) sake that his trial balloon is more successful.
