Kerry Aide Elected to Takoma Park City Council

Heather Mizeur, domestic policy director for Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), handily beat Cheverly Public Works Director Juan Torres in the Takoma Park (Md.) City Council Ward 2 race to replace outgoing Councilwoman Carol Stewart.

Mizeur took 75 percent to Torres’ 25 percent of the vote in her bid to win the two-year seat. The post comes with a $6,000-a-year stipend.
