DDOT to Hold Final H Street Meeting

Closing out nine months of work and public consultations, the District Department of Transportation will convene the final community meeting for the H Street Northeast Corridor Streetscape and Transportation Study at 6:30 p.m. today at the Capital Children’s Museum Auditorium, at Third and H streets Northeast.

The concept plans for the street include new lighting, sidewalks and trees, improved bus and transit service and the creation of plazas at the intersection of Eighth and H streets and Bladensburg Road, Benning Road and Maryland Avenue.

DDOT plans to remove rush-hour parking restrictions along the corridor, and funding needs for the project will also be discussed.
