Schweers’ Switch

Kevin Schweers, veteran communications director for Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), is headed across the Capitol to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He will be replaced in Hutchison’s office by former co-worker Chris Paulitz.

[IMGCAP(1)] Schweers is no stranger to making high-profile moves on Capitol Hill; in the past decade he has also worked for then-Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and former House GOP Conference Chairman J.C. Watts (Okla.).

Paulitz, in addition to working alongside Schweers in Watts’ office, has served in the press shop of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

He will be joined by Jamie Loftus, who enters the Hutchison camp as deputy press secretary, and Brittany Ecks, who has been promoted from press assistant to assistant press secretary.
