Immigration Cloture Vote Fails, Reid Pulls Bill

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pulled the comprehensive immigration reform bill from the floor Thursday morning after the chamber voted against ending debate on the measure.

Only 46 Senators voted in favor of stopping debate, while 53 voted against. After pulling the measure, Reid said the Senate would eventually revisit the issue.

“It will come back, it’s just a question of when,” Reid said.
