Having a Ball on the Field

[IMGCAP(1)] Herman “Germany” Schaefer sees what it’s like on the other side of the camera during a Washington Senators game against the New York Highlanders in April 1911. Schaefer, known for his on-field antics, played much of his career with the Senators. In 1917, following the U.S. declaration of war on Germany, he changed his nickname to “Liberty” Schaefer, according to baseball-reference.com.
