GPO Unveils New Web Site

The Government Printing Office launched a Web site Tuesday that allows users to search for information on Members based on their party, state, district, hometown, term length or name. [IMGCAP(1)]

The site, www.memberguide.gpoaccess.gov, brings together information from the Congressional Biographical Directory and the Congressional Pictorial Directory, linking the information for current Members into one searchable directory for the first time. House Member offices will be able to update the database after registering on a password protected Web page.

GPO officials said they worked with the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, House Administration Committee, Clerk of the House and Secretary of the Senate to develop the site.
