Kansas: Jenkins Unveils Web Site for Battle With Ryun

State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins, running in the 2nd district Republican primary against former Rep. Jim Ryun, has unveiled a new campaign Web site, her campaign announced late last week.

Jenkins’ campaign has been slower to launch than Ryun’s.

The former Congressman has been campaigning for his old job full-time since January, while Jenkins’ effort has been quiet, with the state treasurer mostly focusing on her official duties.

However, Jenkins has been active on the fundraising front, having banked $361,000 at the end of September, compared with $335,000 for Ryun.

The winner of the early August GOP primary will face freshman Rep. Nancy Boyda (D) in the general election. Boyda defeated Ryun last year despite the fact that the eastern Kansas 2nd district is solid Republican territory.
