Oregon: Union Communicates Its Support for Novick

Attorney Steve Novick, running for the Democratic Senate nomination against state Speaker Jeff Merkley, the establishment favorite, has been endorsed by the Communications Workers of America, Local 7901.

The union represents more than 1,000 workers in the public and private sectors, including a substantial number of retirees.

The winner of the primary between the two will take on two-term Sen. Gordon Smith (R), a top target of national Democrats.
