California: Ose’s Multimedia Ad Blitz Features Lungren

Former Rep. Doug Ose (R), looking to return to Congress in the 4th district, has launched a television, radio and direct-mail ad campaign in his bid to win what should be a competitive GOP primary.

Two of the 30-second television spots feature Rep. Dan Lungren (R), who holds the neighboring 3rd district seat that Ose held until he retired in 2004. Placer County Sheriff Ed Bonner and National Tax Limitation Committee President Lew Uhler are also featured delivering testimonials for Ose.

Ose’s main competition in the June 3 GOP primary looks to be former state Sen. Rico Oller, who came in a close second to Lungren in the 2004 3rd district GOP primary. Oller finished ahead of Ose’s sister, Mary Ose, in that race. Oller has been endorsed by the Club for Growth.

The solidly Republican, suburban Sacramento 4th district opened when incumbent Rep. John Doolittle (R) announced that he was retiring. Police administrator Charlie Brown, the 2006 Democratic nominee, is running again.
