Source: Ney to Leave Prison Soon

Former Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) will be released from his minimum security prison later this month, according to a source close to the former Congressman. It’s unclear what the next step will be for Ney, but according to the source, Ney is leaving the Morgantown, W.Va., penitentiary earlier than scheduled, but will serve out the remainder of his sentence in a different type of facility. Ney was sentenced to 30 months in prison for corruption charges. He entered the prison in late February 2007. — Shira Toeplitz
