Colorado: GOP Heavyweights Get Behind Armstrong’s Bid

Businessman Wil Armstrong (R), seeking to replace the retiring Rep. Tom Tancredo (R) in the 6th district, is running as the outsider. But the list of endorsements he has accrued would be the envy of any political insider.

Maybe because Armstrong’s father, Bill Armstrong (R), is a popular former Senator, his list of backers includes Sen. Wayne Allard (R), former Gov. Bill Owens (R), Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R), state Attorney General John Suthers (R), former Rep. Scott McInnis (R) and former state Treasurer Mark Hillman (R).

Battling Armstrong in the GOP primary are Colorado Secretary of State Mike Coffman and state Sens. Ted Harvey and Steve Ward.
