Texas: Key Local PAC Backs Olson in House Primary

Former Senate aide Pete Olson, running in the crowded Republican primary in the 22nd district, has been endorsed by the United Republicans of Harris County political action committee.

The portions of Harris and Fort Bend counties included in the suburban Houston district make up the two biggest geographic voting blocs in the seat. Portions of two other counties are also included in the 22nd district, which tilts decidedly Republican.

Olson was chief of staff for Sen. John Cornyn (R) and was a longtime Capitol Hill staffer before moving back to the 22nd district, where he was raised, to run for the seat currently held by Rep. Nick Lampson (D).

United Republicans of Harris County PAC says it will send out more than 60,000 mail pieces to the district’s Republican voters urging them to support Olson and the other candidates the PAC is backing.
