Montana: Baucus TV Ads Tout His Ability to Fund Projects

Sen. Max Baucus (D), who so far is not facing any serious challenge for re-election, put his first television and radio advertisements on the airwaves Monday.

The Senate Finance chairman released a 30-second TV ad that is airing statewide on both cable and network stations. The highly positive spot features a handful of Montana residents paying homage to Baucus’ state projects.

Baucus also plans to put up a 60-second radio ad on his role in passing the recent economic stimulus package.

Baucus is seeking is sixth term in the Senate, a record for his state. Engineer Kirk Bushman, former state House Majority Leader Michael Lange and political newcomer Anton Pearson have filed for the Republican primary on June 3; however, none of the GOP contenders is considered a serious challenger to Baucus.
