Virginia: Connolly Surpassed $500K So Far This Year

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Gerry Connolly (D) raised more than $500,000 in the first quarter for his 11th district House bid and had $424,000 in cash on hand, according to a campaign announcement on Monday.

Of that cash-on-hand total, Connolly is expected to report about $390,000 available for his highly competitive Democratic primary against former Rep. Leslie Byrne. The primary winner will be favored in November to replace retiring Rep. Tom Davis (R).

Byrne is expected to report to the Federal Election Commission that she raised $235,000 in the first quarter, with $160,000 of that coming in March alone. Her cash-on-hand total for the primary race is expected to be about $222,000.
