New Mexico: Former State GOP Chief Prefers Wilson to Pearce

Rep. Heather Wilson has been endorsed by former state GOP Chairman Murray Ryan in her bid for the Republican Senate nomination.

Wilson is facing Rep. Steve Pearce in a June 3 GOP Senate primary to replace retiring Sen. Pete Domenici (R) that is expected to be very close. Rep. Tom Udall, meanwhile, has a clear path to the Democratic nomination.

“Heather Wilson is committed to our national defense, and that’s why I’m endorsing her campaign,” Murray, a former state Representative, said in a statement released by the Wilson campaign.
