NRCC to Report $7.2M in Bank

The National Republican Congressional Committee was expected to report by today that it had raised $15.44 million during the first quarter of 2008.

The NRCC raised $7.1 million in March, giving the committee roughly $7.2 million in the bank as of April 1. The NRCC had no debt going into the second fundraising quarter.

House Republicans continue to lag behind their Democratic counterparts on the fundraising front, particularly when it comes to money in the bank.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said last week that it had $44.3 million in cash on hand as of April 1. The DCCC raised $20 million during the first quarter of the year and carried no debt.
