Nebraska: Kleeb Brings His Boots to Stetson’s Fundraiser

Democratic activists are set to host a June 11 fundraiser for Senate nominee Scott Kleeb at Stetson’s, a Washington, D.C., watering hole popular with Capitol Hill staffers.

The host committee is asking for $50 per attendee to the evening event, which is being called “Boots and Beer with Scott Kleeb.” Kleeb, a rancher and college lecturer, beat wealthy businessman and former Republican Tony Raimondo in this month’s Democratic primary.

In the general election, Kleeb faces former Agriculture Secretary and ex-Gov. Mike Johanns (R). Nebraska remains solid conservative territory, and Johanns is currently favored to win in November.

Johanns recently picked up the endorsement of his GOP primary opponent, financial adviser Pat Flynn, and of the group National Right to Life.

Kleeb and Johanns are running for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Chuck Hagel (R).
